In order to file a claim covered by this Policy, where the Member uses medical and/or hospital services recommended by the Insurer in Spain, the following rules must be observed: 1. The Member shall produce his or her Sanitas card to the recommended medical and/or hospital service, thereby identifying himself or herself as a member of the insurance scheme, and shall make no payment whatsoever for the aforesaid recommended medical and/or hospital service. 2. Furthermore, in the event of surgery, hospitalisation, diagnostic tests and therapy, prior prescription by the physician and authorisation from the Insurer shall generally be required. The exceptions to the foregoing are listed below:
Should the Policyholder, Member or his or her relations fail to comply with the provisions of paragraphs 1 and 2 above (unless unable to do so for reasons beyond their control), the Insurer shall not cover the expenses incurred for such care, either totally or partially.
