In compliance with this cover, the Insurer is required to seek from specialists, medical care centres or leading experts in the field, in any country in the world, a second opinion on the diagnosis or medical treatment in the event of serious illness, of a chronic nature, which needs programmed care, whose development requires exceptional measures in terms of diagnosis or therapy and/or is considered to be seriously life-threatening.

To access this service the Insured Party shall submit to the Insurer the medical report which will contain written medical details, X-rays or other imaging diagnoses obtained, excluding the submission of any biological or synthetic samples. The Insurer will deliver this report, with all due confidentiality, to the specialist or medical centre designated by the Insurer who is held to be the most prestigious or most suitable in the field, in accordance with the illness in question.

Once the requested reply has been received, the Insurer will convey to the Insured party the assessment and evaluation of the same, releasing the medical report from the second opinion required.
