This benefit includes partial refund or, as appropriate, total payment by the Insurer of the expenses incurred for medical care and/or surgery only, administered to the Member as a result of the admission thereof to hospital.

It covers surgical expenses (fees for surgeon, assistants, anaesthetist, operating theatre use, medical supplies and medication), ICU charges, as well as other hospitalisation expenses, including meals and a conventional room with a bed for a companion.

For the purposes of this Policy, such hospitalisation must have been ordered by a physician in order to qualify for partial refund or, as appropriate, total payment by the Insurer of the expenses specified in the two preceding paragraphs.

Expenses relating to in-patient medical care and/or surgery for childbirth shall likewise be subject to partial refund or, as appropriate, total payment by Insurer. The expenses thus covered include:

a conventional room with a bed for a companion and meals,

dressings and medical supplies for the woman giving birth, as well as delivery room charges and medication administered to the patient during her stay in the hospital, obstetrician, anaesthetist and midwife fees.
